Announced by Reddit on September 30, 2026 What’s changing

Reddit is turning off RSS on November 13.

If you follow subreddits in a feed reader, those feeds stop that day, with no replacement. Drop in your feed list to see what breaks and where to follow it instead.

New to this?

What Reddit RSS is, and why it matters

RSS is a simple way to follow websites. Instead of checking each site, you subscribe to its feed in an app called a feed reader, and new posts show up there. No algorithm and no ads, in the order they were posted.

Every subreddit has had a feed like this. Add .rss to a subreddit’s address, like reddit.com/r/cooking/.rss, and any feed reader can follow it.

On November 13, 2026, Reddit stops serving those feeds. Your reader keeps the posts it already has, but nothing new arrives.

Don’t use a feed reader? Then nothing changes for you. Reddit’s website and app work as usual.

The basics

What is RSS?

RSS is a way for websites to publish a list of their newest posts that apps can read. You subscribe to a site’s feed in a feed reader, like Feedly, Inoreader or NetNewsWire, and new posts from all your sites show up in one place, in order, without an algorithm.

What is Reddit RSS?

Reddit has offered an RSS feed for nearly every page: each subreddit, each user, searches and even single threads. You get one by adding .rss to the address, like reddit.com/r/cooking/.rss. People use these to follow subreddits in a feed reader, and many apps, bots and newsletters are built on them.

What’s an OPML file, and how do I get mine?

OPML is a small file with the list of feeds you subscribe to. Every feed reader can export one, usually from Settings under Import/Export. Our step-by-step guide covers Feedly, Inoreader, NetNewsWire, Reeder and more.

No file? Switch to “Type subreddits” and enter the names instead.

I don’t use a feed reader. Does this affect me?

Probably not. Reddit’s website and app keep working as usual. This change matters if you follow subreddits through RSS, or if you use a tool, bot or newsletter that reads Reddit’s feeds.

The shutdown

Why are Reddit’s feeds going away?

On September 30, 2026, Reddit said RSS had become a common way to scrape its posts in bulk, and that it will stop serving feeds on November 13, 2026. Every kind of Reddit feed is affected. Reddit says there is no replacement for people who read subreddits in a feed reader. More on what’s changing.

Will a different RSS reader fix it?

No. The feeds stop at Reddit’s end, so every reader loses them on the same day. Services that make feeds out of Reddit for you, like RSSHub or RSS-Bridge, read from Reddit too, so we mark them as at risk.

What still works after November 13?

Every feed that isn’t from Reddit. Posts already in your reader stay there. Reddit’s own site and app keep working. And many topics have active homes with real feeds, like Lemmy communities, Mastodon hashtags and Hacker News searches. See the alternatives.

What about private feeds, like saved posts or my inbox?

They stop too. Those links contain a secret token, so we hide it on the page and leave it out of every download.

This tool

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. Your file is read by this page, in your browser, and never sent anywhere. There are no accounts and no cookies.

If you choose to look up Lemmy communities, only the subreddit names are sent to our lookup. We count visits and button clicks anonymously, never anything from your file. Privacy details.

Does this tool use Reddit’s API?

No. It never contacts Reddit. It reads the list you give it, then looks up the same topics on Lemmy and Mastodon. It can’t keep Reddit feeds alive, and nothing honest can promise that.

How do I add the new feeds to my reader?

Tick the feeds you want and download them as one OPML file. In your reader, choose Import OPML, usually in Settings. They arrive in folders named after the subreddit they replace.

To clear out the dead Reddit feeds, unsubscribe from them, or import the cleaned OPML into a fresh account.

What does it cost?

Nothing. No account, no email and no limits.

Is this affiliated with Reddit?

No. It’s a free, independent tool made by Mayank, and isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Reddit, Inc.

Check your feeds before November 13.

It takes about a minute, it’s free, and your file never leaves your browser.
