Reddit RSS feed not working? Here’s why

If the subreddits in your feed reader stopped getting new posts, your reader isn’t broken. Reddit switches off every RSS feed on November 13, 2026. From that day, readers like Feedly, Inoreader and NetNewsWire get nothing new from Reddit, and no setting brings it back.

How to tell it’s the shutdown

  • The feed address starts with reddit.com, old.reddit.com or another Reddit address, and ends in .rss or .xml.
  • The last post in it is from on or before November 13, 2026.
  • Your other feeds still update normally.
  • Feeds from services that read Reddit for you, like RSSHub or RSS-Bridge, stopped at the same time.

If all of that matches, the feed is gone for good. Re-adding it, switching readers or changing the address won’t help.

What to do now

  1. Find all of your Reddit feeds. Export your subscriptions as an OPML file (how) and drop it into the checker. It lists every Reddit feed, including searches, people and private feeds.
  2. Pick somewhere else to follow each topic. The checker suggests Lemmy communities, Mastodon hashtags and Hacker News searches that still have real feeds.
  3. Add the new feeds to your reader. Download them as one file and import it, or add them one at a time (steps for each reader).
  4. Clear out the dead feeds, so your reader stops showing errors. The checker gives you a copy of your list without them.

Why Reddit did it

Reddit said RSS had become a common way to scrape its posts in bulk. It announced the end of RSS on September 30, 2026, and said there is no replacement for people who follow subreddits in a feed reader. The full timeline.

Can I still follow subreddits at all?

Yes, on Reddit’s own site and app. For anything you want in your feed reader, these alternatives still publish real feeds.
